Diego Navarro reports that he is in the final throes of completing the Spanish translation of the Earned Schedule book. His plans are to first make it available in electronic form, then later as a paperback. By all indications, the Spanish translation will become available for purchase by this coming March. |

The Measurable News has indicated that Walt Lipke’s article, “Examination of the Threshold for the To Complete Indexes,” is to be published in Issue 1 of 2016. The examination uses data from 25 projects to evaluate the threshold validity. |

Recently there have been requests for a paper published in 2006, “Statistical Methods Applied to EVM …the Next Frontier.” The publisher introduced several typo errors into the article, causing problems in using it for a reference. Thus, it was not listed in the Papers area of the website. Because of the current interest, the manuscript, having correct information, is now posted along with the journal publication information. |

Through discussions with Robert Van De Velde who is working on software enhancements to his EVM-ES tool, Walt Lipke became interested in verifying the threshold level for TCPI (and TSPI) theorized in his 2009 Measurable News article, “The To Complete Performance Index …an expanded view.” Data from twenty five projects was accumulated to test the threshold. Lipke’s work has been submitted to the Measurable News for publication, possibly the Winter 2016 issue. |

An update was received on the status of the Spanish translation of the Earned Schedule book. One of the translators could no longer continue with the effort and some difficulty was encountered in working with the figures. The effort has been re-started and progress is being made. When the Spanish version is complete, the details of its media forms and availability will be announced here. |

Paulo Andre’ de Andrade, who translated the Earned Schedule book into the Portuguese language, has recently translated two of Walt Lipke’s articles for publication in the Mundo Project Management Journal. The Earned Schedule-Longest Path (ES-LP) calculator v1c has been updated to v1d. As well, the ES Calculator (Special Cases) is updated from vs1d to vs1e. The update for each is an elaboration of the ES(L) analysis example. The example provides a template for identifying anomalies and selecting the appropriate LP forecast with its associated ES(L) value. The update improves ES-LP forecasting and, as well, the resultant ES(L) values facilitate statistical forecasting. |

Mojtaba Zarei Kesheh published a very significant paper at the end of 2012 in The Measurable News. His paper corroborates the project duration forecasting improvement claims for Earned Schedule-Longest Path (ES-LP). The paper identifies a condition for identifying and improving the selection of the longest path and describes the application of statistical forecasting with LP. |
