Kym Henderson is working with Andrew Goodwin, the EVM Focal Point, for the Australian Department of Defence (DoD) to update the EVM Data Analysis Handbook. The effort is to align the document to the updated Australian EVM standard AS4817-2019, a modified adoption of the ISO EVM standard 21508:2018. Earned Schedule is imbedded in both standards and therefore will be included in the updated handbook
Walt Lipke’s second book, Earned Schedule Plus, has been published and is available in paperback and e-versions on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. ES+ introduces analysis methods developed since publication of the Earned Schedule book in 2009. Along with the new methods, there are chapters on the need for measures of project performance, the origin and history of Earned Schedule, and the studies establishing the reliability of ES duration forecasting.  The new and enhanced methods presented in ES+ include advances in:
Project duration forecasting
Assessing project recovery
Measuring the impact of rework on project cost and duration.

The developmental research is included along with application examples to promote understanding and encourage use. Applying the advanced ES practices described in this book will significantly benefit project managers in their efforts to achieve successful projects.

Paulo André de Andrade, the Brazilian who translated the Earned Schedule book to Portuguese is presently translating Earned Schedule Plus. Paulo works so rapidly, the Portuguese version of ES+ is estimated to be published and available by summer.
Williams Chirinos, President of Inexertus, Inc., has recently fielded a new project management tool, replacing IPM-Pro. The new tool is PEMS and is touted as Cloud-based Integrated Construction Project Management Software. PEMS comes with a 30-day free trial. More information and an e-Book may be obtained at https://www.pems.io/.
Walt Lipke was interviewed by PMR magazine, a Chinese publication, on the topic of rework. The interview was published in PMR’s October issue. The interview has since been re-published on-line in the December 2020 issue of Project Management World Journal.
Chris Rymer of Wilmer Limited in the UK offers the project analysis tool, Project Tracker. The tool performs with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject. More information is available at  https://www.willmer.co.uk/project-tracker.
January - June 2020
Earned Schedule website was upgraded to a secure site during February.
P-Factor Calculator (v2) enhanced for Longest Path analysis and now includes a choice of performing for projects managed monthly, weekly, or daily.
SAI Index & Rework Calculator has been enhanced and re-named SAI Index, Rework & Duration Increase Calculator (v3a). The calculator has added capability to compute the project duration increase due to the accrual of rework from poor schedule adherence.
A small problem was corrected for the Prediction Analysis Calculator (v2b).
The Stability Point Calculator was updated to Office 2010.
The 2nd book, Earned Schedule Plus, has been submitted to the publisher. It is expected to be available in September. The book provides new and enhanced analysis methods for forecasting, recovery, and rework impact.
Attention to an error made in the 2019 news reporting. It was stated that the ISO standard for EVM treated ES as an “emerging practice.” Rather, ES is treated in the ISO standard as a fully accepted part of EVM.
Walt Lipke published two related articles, both in the on-line PM World Journal,  – “Schedule Performance Impact from Rework” in January and  “Project Duration Increase from Rework” in April.
